My First Job As Bassoonist
My first job as bassoonist was very fun and interesting.
I was hired to perform the 4th bassoon part in Verdi´s Requiem with
Sandnes Orkesterforening ( a semi pro orchestra in Sandnes-Norway)
This was a really challence!
I practised a lot at the bassoon part together with my father,
( who was hired to play the 1bassoon part) and I found out that this
was really exiting music, but also a lot of resposibillity to perform this part alone.
The orchestra was huge! also the choir!
And the music was really heavy!
The two concerts went very well, and the 4 bassoonists was
given special attention at the concert. Yeah, this was fun!

Kristians First Concert With A Professional Orchestra
At the 12 of February 2005 Kristian performed a whole concert together with me and
the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. He played the 2nd bassoon alone in the whole
program at a family concert. To enter the professional musician life for 2 days at the age of 13
is quite seldom now a days.
Here is a picture from the rehearsal:
Father and son practising Halvorsen: Norwegian Rhapsody no.1
Kristians eager to learn and really go for this project really impressed me!
