My Dream Bassoon

Bernd Moosmann modell 200. ( serial 94034 )

This instrument is built in 1994, and have been through over 10 years with adjustments and

many frustrations from the master Bernd Moosmann before he made my dream instrument.

****

The Bell

This Moosmann bell is unique.

It has a wider bore than moust Moosmann instruments.

****

The Wing Joint

(front)

The wing joint front has a new system for playing cromatically up to high G.

Between E and D hole: High E flat key.

Over E flat key: High F key

Over E hole: High E and High F sharp key.

With this sytem no finger have to slide between keys.

****

The Wing Joint

(side)

The side of the wing joint shows the placement of the four high note keys.

Also note the extension from Eflat trill left hand 3 that is connected to the butt joint.

****

The Wing Joint

(back)

The back of the wing joint shows clearly the high G key over the high D key.

Also a conncetion between the high C and octave key gives a better "speech" to the high B.

The rollers and form of the other keys is confortable for fast passage playing in the high register.
