This Bassoon concerto is restored and premiered by R.Ronnes. It exist only 1movement and the half
of the 2nd movement of this concerto.
The rest was destroyed under the 2 world war. I have completed the 2 movement my self.

(1713-1767) J.H.Freithoff: Bassoon Sonata in F major
Performing J.H.Frethoff Sonata for Bassoon and Cembalo
with Michael Massey at the IDRS festival in Banff 2002:
Restored /arranged for bassoon by R.Ronnes.
This is the only Norwegian Barock sonata for a wind instrument.The original is for Flauto Traverso.
The Cembalo part is written out by one of Norways finest composers, Antonio Bibalo.
(Who has written a beautiful piece for me for bassoon and piano.)
This recording is from the IDRS festival in Banff,Canada 2002. Michael Massey is playing the Cembalo.

This sonata is played by many bassoonists. I prefer to play this sonata simple.
The combination with a Positive organ suits the bassoon well.

This is the 2nd time I record this wonderful concerto, that is written by one of the moust important
contemporary Norwegian composers - Harald Sæverud.
This recording was done in 1997 with "my" orchestra, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra,
and at that time our chef conductor Alexander Dmitriev.
